Inspired by Rochas

I'm constantly looking to collections for inspiration in shape, texture, color, and proportion. Runway looks give me new ideas to play with and are especially helpful when shopping for vintage.

Rochas' recent show is the perfect example of a collection that gets me excited to visit Shareen again. The designer, Marco Zanini, is so good at balancing quirky and retro-classic all while remaining sexy and elegant... basically the epitome of the woman I wish I was. Here are some of my favorite looks/ideas that are currently inspiring me...
Slinky silk pajamas worn with a little crystal necklace and nubby belted jackets with matching skirts.
An extra-full skirt in a heavy satin fabric and a seafoam green cropped jumpsuit that could almost pass as a midi shirtdress.
Classic little sweaters paired with knit pencil skirts and leather gloves. Structured long vests thrown over plaid skirts (and cropped trousers).
A roomy opera coat in a beautiful baby pink satin and another fancy pajama set. I'm really into this satin fabric.
And lastly, a clutch that looks like a rolled-up newspaper. Specifically in the python-embossed leather. I want this so bad.

Golden Girl

Headed over to the Chateau Marmont hotel this past week to play dress up with LoveGold's collection of beautiful gold jewelry. We figured it was only right to shoot around the property wearing some of the world's finest gold jewelry...
The LoveGold team brought even more jewelry with them this time, everything from an 18k gold minaudiére to a gold diamond-encrusted peacock bangle. I was in heaven! Here I'm wearing a vintage dress from Shareen with Hoorsenbuhs rings and earrings and bracelets by Platt...
Wearing a J.Crew men's shirt and Charlie by Matthew Zink pants with earrings by Lana, Theo Fennell ring, and Hoorsenbuhs cuff.
Necklace by Neil Lane and rings by Solange Azagury-Partridge.

Had such a wonderful time shooting these photos in collaboration with LoveGold! Hope you enjoyed the post.

Bad Luck

I used to love throwing on oversized boy jackets back when I was in high school, so wearing this one by 10deep feels very nostalgic...
Worn with Citizens of Humanity jeans, Topshop tee, Saint Laurent sandals, Roberto Cavalli snake cuff, and vintage jewelry.
I'm currently in Paris right now, working on a fun beauty project, stay tuned.

The Smoke Effect

Testing out some new shadow paints that were sent to me by Estée Lauder. I love doing a smoky eye, especially when it involves brown shimmery shadows. To create this look, I mixed three different shades of brown creams and blended them all around my eye. Then, I used the black shadow paint as eyeliner along the lashes and applied some creamy gold shadow paint on the inner corners of my eyes. For my skin, I'm using Koh Gen Do aqua foundation (it gives you the best dewy coverage and never looks like a mask), Nars blush in Zen on my cheeks, and a little bit of Nars lip pencil in Damned mixed with some Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream for light, natural color on the lips. Lastly, I did one quick coat of Estée Lauder Sumptuous Lash Mascara- it's my favorite mascara ever.

Now with all this beauty talk I kind of want to dye my hair or something...

Onyx Brick

Wearing my uniform- a crop top and a pencil skirt. It's an outfit formula that never fails me and always works on those days I can't find anything to wear. Crop top by Topshop, Zara pencil skirt, vintage fur stole and crystal necklace, Margiela jacket, and Jimmy Choo pumps.

Ear Adornment

I've always been really into bold statement earrings; everything from vintage rhinestone clip-ons to oversized bamboo hoops.  I usually just wear diamond studs everyday, but a recent trip to a little vintage shop filled with sparkly 50s earrings made me realize how much fun it is to decorate my ears with fancy jewels. In honor of my appreciation for ear adornment, here are some photos of some awesome earrings...
(Jil Sander, Balmain, Oscar de la Renta, Balenciaga, Lanvin, Marni)

Now it's time to shop! Here are some options I found while browsing online...

So glad I purchased these trousers last summer- I've already worn them with everything in my closet, from a cropped sweatshirt to a silk camisole, and now a nude bodysuit...
Wearing Diane Von Furstenburg trousers, American Apparel cotton bodysuit and denim jacket, and vintage jewelry.

Dinner is Served

My best friend and I recently watched the documentary Vegucated and it made us think twice about eating animal products. I don't eat meat often, so becoming a partial vegan wasn't really that difficult (I still haven't given up greek yogurt or eggs). We take turns cooking for each other and the other night I made sweet potato pizza with kale and caramelized onions for dinner. I substituted the Fontina cheese for Daiya mozzarella cheese and made my own cauliflower crust instead of store-bought pizza crust.
