Dinner is Served

My best friend and I recently watched the documentary Vegucated and it made us think twice about eating animal products. I don't eat meat often, so becoming a partial vegan wasn't really that difficult (I still haven't given up greek yogurt or eggs). We take turns cooking for each other and the other night I made sweet potato pizza with kale and caramelized onions for dinner. I substituted the Fontina cheese for Daiya mozzarella cheese and made my own cauliflower crust instead of store-bought pizza crust.

Yum! I liked Vegucated too (and Forks over Knives). I've been a vegan for 13 years but I'm still learning about new ways to cook. Can you believe I've never used kale? I'll definitely be trying it on pizza (and isn't Daiya great?)

Good for you! You should see "Forks Over Knives" too, very enlightening.

BTW, you're move to not eating meat (but eating yogurt/dairy) makes you a vegetarian not a "partial vegan", Being a vegan is all of nothing.

thumbs up for this decision! going vegan is one of the best things you can do for your health, the animals and the planet. don't be afraid of going "fully vegan", it's not even remotely as hard as one might think. swing by my pinterest board "nom nom" for some delicious vegan meal ideas.

Karla, I just watched vegucated as well as forks over knives! I've been vegetarian for a long time and have recently started eating a more vegan diet. It's amazing how many vegan options there are! Thank you for the pizza tips!!!

That looks delicious. I have been Vegan for a few years now and it's been the best decision. I love Daiya cheese. If you want to get some cheesy flavor in things, but want something with more nutritional content, you can use nutritional yeast flakes (vitamins and taste so cheesy) and mix it with some fortified soy (or other alternative) milk.

Good luck with your new endeavor!
