No-Fuss Classics

I recently read this article on The Wall Street Journal that talked about how women should shop like men and focus on the quality of a garment rather than purchasing a bunch of fast fashion clothing.  So lately, I've found myself paying more attention to the seams, fabric, and fit  of items I come across... I'm beginning to stock my closet with some really great no-fuss classic pieces!
I'm wearing a shirtdress by a label called Jane, Gap trench, YSL imperial pumps, and a vintage bag from Hubba Hubba.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

love your no-fuss-ness! think this is one of my favourite outfits. the little white collar... gorgeous.

i've started to wear my boyfriend's shirts (he's got some really nice ones i'm secretly not planning to give back) because i find it very hard to find the kind of shirts that look good in the womens dept.

that article definitely makes a point. i think sometimes we all make that mistake of buying something because we think we need it because of the label, or the trends, but you're right - classic is best.

That is some good advice... I try to shop that way. You really do find yourself getting quality and classic staples that you will be able to wear for years to come if you take care of them. I am an impulse shopper.. but, I try to always get things that I know I'll wear past this season.
You look fantastic in these photos. Love the bag and platforms together.

I began to pay attention to quality a few years back, and I have to say that quality doesn't mean it's necessarily expensive at all. Second hand shops, sales, and outlets can be real treasuries: you get clothes that fit well, will last longer in use, and are more environmental friendly. Hopefully more and more people come to realise the fact disposable fashion is a dead end.

Beautiful as always. Love the shirt dress, trench, purse & shoes. Funny thing...your epiphany that is... because my husband and I were just talking about how women shop for what's in style and men shop for what's going to last and never go out of style. He has recently cleaned out his closet and is on the look out for all white collared dress shirts to go with various pants. He does not mind at all that he would be wearing a white shirt every day of the week...a woman...NO WAY!! He also said he could get by with only 2 pairs of great shoes in black & brown. WHAT!! haha
