I Saw the Sun

The weather has been so beautiful lately, I figured it was only appropriate to whip out one of my favorite frilly skirts on a trip to run errands...

Wore a sequined gold blouse from American Rag, vintage navy blue blazer, Topshop tutu-esque skirt, and one of my favorite pair of shoes by Prada..
Thanks for all of the bike-riding tips, I really am considering buying a bike this weekend.

I really think that you spend with those photos so beautiful and so well chosen these outfits.

Another thing I wanted to say ... well ... ask rather, uhmm ... where you bought this beautiful sailor jacket ???
Anyway, hope you have a nice day and you write a new post soon, soon!

Hello, I've got something to tell you. It's kind of crazy to think you don't already know this. But I'm gonna make you a believer. SHORT SKIRTS aren't for you honey. HELL! Anything SHORT isn't for you. Here's one chance to learn that. Buy a full length mirror.

The whole outfit is kind of whack kind of more MISS than hit. Waste of a post.

May seem I'm foolish? I'm sure others seeing this are thinking the same just too quiet to speak up or have their heads too far up your ass to agree.

and dont worry I wont be back. You lost a reader. I founnd some way better bloggers out there with good taste!

ANA J. said...

Love the gold sequins And of course the Prada shoes.

@Jillie you're extremely misplaced in your backlashing. Style is how you carry yourself, and I think Karla is working the outfit well. She looks completely at ease, and it's that edge of confidence that makes or breaks an outfit. Besides, the sequins work interestingly well with the nude skirt. A longer skirt here with that blazer would actually set off the proportion. And yes, non anorexic people can wear a short skirt and rock it. You've a lot to learn dear, both about fashion and manners.

Amazinggggg
And the outfit could not have worked as well if it weren't for your awesome coordination of the gold buttons on the blazer with your gold top.
The skirt is a great touch, also. It works really well with the top; I first thought they were a dress, for some reason!
Great great great

Hi Karla
I wanted to tell you that your style is amazing and a breath of fresh air. I love this outfit! You look so great and you have become a role model for style and body image; I love how you disagree with what the media is telling us on how to look and how to dress in order to hide certain body parts. Finally there is a girl that has a gorgeous body and is not stick skinny (which is a good thing). You show fashion is for everyone. I think it's great for younger girls to have a real-life example of a girl with style and a healthy body, rather than staring at skin and bones. What an inspiration!

ShoesForDessert said...

I literally just showed my roommate this post and she was like "oh, yeah Karla, I follow her" aha and then we just had a discussion about how amazing you dress and how confident you are. You're an inspiration to non-stick thin girls! And such a fashionista

http://shoesfordessert.blogspot.com/

Lucy Marmalade said...

The froofy skirt is paired so well with the more structured blazer. In fact, I'm always impressed by how well you wear a nice, tailored jacket. Tres chic!

Anonymous said...

I'm really not sure how readers are getting the idea that you are not thin. You ARE thin, you're just not sickly. You have the most gorgeous legs I've ever seen--strong, like the pin-up model, Bettie Page. Dancer's legs.

Your style is unique and eclectic, and it's refreshing to see someone who isn't recycling and regurgitating trendy teeny bopper styles. Your look is timeless.

Rock on, Karla.

Whats that gross thing on your leg? By the knee like a mark? Summer isnt your season gotta cover up the chub nubs Hon.

I sometimes really hate reading these comments because people are so cynical and judgmental and pick apart everything they can. It makes me sick to my stomach... and SO angry. If they are going to criticize, they should do it constructively. When they don't, they show their lack of education, immaturity and inner rage.

I would think that Jessica Simpson has taught us to embrace our bodies, and be proud. So what if the legs are a little muscular that's a dancer's legs. I'm so proud of this girl showing her lovely limbs and being PROUD of them! We are too critical of others, which only shows a complete lack of self-assurance in our own skin. I am proud to be a fan of this blog...because it's owner shows that she is a woman with curves and shape and she's proud to display it. It should make women feel empowered and proud that she is sharing her lovely curves and her confidence with us. Says a LOT about her to me. I'm anxious to see her as a designer. She will be embraced by many...making styles that will fit EVERY woman from rail thin...to extra curvey.

RIGHT on! Genuis! I'm excited about your future!

I'm going to say something that might hurt, but it's something everyone is thinking but no one is willing to tell you. You don't have the body for this outfit. You are not a big girl, but this outfit is not flattering at all and makes you look chunky. Especially the shoes that wrap around your ankles. If you lost about 15 pounds this would be a great look on you.

linda hurtig said...

Aaaah, you almoust made me cut my hair off today. I think you look so damn beautiful in your short hair and, like I said, I wanted to cut off my long hair that I've been saving for years. I didn't, but it was close. You're dangerous.
