ashley is fabulous. and for the lipstick, I always use NYC New York Color Ultra Moist LipWear in Sheer Red. it's hands down the best drugstore beauty product I have ever used, and though it looks really dark in the tube it goes on this beautiful, sheer dark red shade.

if your any good with an angle brush (I'm from australia so i dont know what you have there...) but Napoleon is great. my lifesaver when it comes to liquid liner. stays on better and easier to apply.
you can use the normal black shadow and buy a cake liner sealer (looks like a bottle of eye drops) which you mix with the brush to make liquid or you can buy a tub of paste liner which works just as well, just a little thicker..

Bobbi Brown's black liquid eyeliner is AMAZING. You apply it with a brush and it comes in a little pot. SERIOUSLY. AMAZING.

i wear black liquid eyeliner everyday and i always just use the cheap almay cone tip liner. it works good and goes on perfectly. and you dont have to waste your money.

Wet and Wild makes a great cheap liquid liner in tons of fun colors (I regularly use the black, brown, and teal)
Make sure to let the line set before you open your eye. You'll have to experiment to get it right but it's very easy.
You might also want to consider covering the line with a smudge of the same color eye shadow to soften the line, which can be really harsh.

For the eyeliner, you should get Urban Decay Liquid Eyeliner in the color "perversion". It's easy to apply and doesn't smudge easily.

anything by mac is great!! but whoever wrote about russian red lipstick by mac is right....i use the same one and it will stay on no matter what you do without making your lips feel dry...i have worn it on my blog a couple of times but the best things is that its blue red....not orange/red!
Instead of liquid eyeliner, you should try gel eyeliner. My favorite is MAC's Fluidline and be sure to get their small angle brush. It much easier to apply than liquid eyeliner and produces the same result. I always have the perfect cat eye line!

The BEST BEST BEST eyeliner is Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, applied with the Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush. Seriously amazing, never looked too liquid. I have dark hair and green eyes so I love the navy color. I really suggest it, it stays forever!

Babe Cake "cake" eyeliner from benefit. It will last you forever and comes on easily with an angle brush or any small flat short bristle brush. Oh yeah and you can control the consistency by how much you wet the brush; therefore less messups
when you find that perfect lipstick. do share. I love MAC "Rebel" but I don't think that is the specific shade of wine you are looking for. Still, it looks good on just about anybody and has a beautiful rich color.

I used to use liquid eyeliner exclusively but recently made the change to MAC's gel eyeliner. It is really great and lasts longer. It is super easy to use as well. Haha, I hope I don't sound too much like some tv infomercial or something.

Definately reccomend Bobbi Brown Gel liner in Black Ink. I'm a hairstylist at toni & guy and it lasts through the whole 10-hour day at work with the heat of the hairdryers and all the steam. They have a selection of colours.. all you need is a little brush to help apply it accurately.

Um MAC has this new artist line can't think of the name at the moment. But one of them has a very nice merlot loking lipstick. I say go with that. Its a nice berry for your complexion. And I am so doing funky tights and cute dresses this fall....my scorpion tat is on my back. SCORPIOS rule!

As far as eyeliner goes, definitely see if you can get one of the felt pen style ones, they're great. So easy to use. MAC had one for a special collection that was under $20 and Shu Umera has a refillable one available all the time for around $50. As far as the wine shade lipstick, good luck. I like "so scarlet" by MAC (released last year), but your coloring is much different from mine.
I do winged eyeliner everyday....it took longer at first but now I'm a pro. I love mac gel liner in blitz & glitz. And as far as red lipstick, I also adore it, but I always let the professionals match my perfect shade. I perfer matte to gloss too. Love your blog, you inspire me everyday!

Oh honey. I liked the post till I got to the last photo. As someone who knows a LOT about tattoos and the tattooing world (it really is a whole separate world), I have countless tattoos myself (including a full sleeve)... this is not a good tattoo. Its totally not your fault, its the tattoo artist (obviously). A good place thats semi-proximal to LA (its in San Diego)... is Guru, go there if you ever get a chance... they will be able to fix this for you. Each artist in there is a genius. There are the BEST artists at a place up in San Jose but its super hard to get an appointment if they've never tattooed you before... you have to get hooked up... I'm considering hooking you up...
yes i have suggestions! first of all-- NARS lip pencils are devine! it's not wine colored nor tinted, but my shade of red is dragon girl. love it! (and it doesn't make the teefers look mellow yellow.) second-- funk what you heard about liquid liner. try smashbox's jet set waterproof eye liner. it goes on like a dream (with a brush of course,) doesn't smudge, and doesn't look anywhere near as harsh as liquid. it comes in some pretty great colors too. well, that's my cents on bitchin', affordable makeup. i appreciate all the outfit ideas btw!
as for great wine tinted lipstick - my favorite (and I tried on a zillion) is
Chanel creme lipstick "vamp"
but the trick is to apply with a brush gradually until you get the perfect color. Otherwise it was just too much.

I'm always on the look for a good liquid liner, and the one that I seem to like best is by Lorac. I'm not sure what its called but it comes in this silver/gunmetal marker-like packaging. I really recommend it. It's super easy to put on as well.

i didn't know that the scorpion was the symbol for Durango, you learn something new everyday !
as for your eye liner query, i swear by bobbi brown's gel liner. it comes in a little pot, takes some practice to use (you need to put it on using a small angled brush) but it is the BEST. i put it on in the morning, and it survives a whole day at uni (+practicals) it's perfect for creating a solid 40's style flick or you can smudge it up and go smoky
as for wine toned lippie, i have MAC's viva glam in #1. it's a lovely deep red colour, so check it out :)

That I mostly use Mineral Makeup. I use ONYX from Bare Escentuals. It comes in a jar and it is in powder form . I use Christian Dior Liner brush to line my eyes. Best brush and the eyeliner stays long all day.

The Body Shop's Liquid Eyeliner works well for me. It lasts long too.
the best red lipstick i've ever tried is lipstick queen by poppy king. the sinner version is 90% pigment (according to the box it comes in) and i belieeeeeeve. it's the only matte lipstick i've tried that manages to glide on without sliding off, it doesn't make your lips look chalky, most importantly it doesn't FEEL chalky - all in all it's great. i love the RED it's a very flattering, kind of vintage shade.
Love the tat, I love the story behind the reason you got it. Tattoos are great, but they're even greater when they have a story to go along with them.

I also am interested in patterned tights. They add so much interest to an outfit. I would be interesting to see how u incorporate them with ur wardrobe.
The best eyeliner I've ever used is Lancome's Artliner- Precision Point Eyeliner. It has great shades, looks awesome on, and is soooooo easy to apply with the foam tip. If you are looking for a cheaper version, Loreal's Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner is a great product also. However, it only comes in black or earthen brown.
Have you tried obsessive compulsive lip tars? They are mixable...I would try nsfw and vintage... or...clinique's black honey...a classic! try them! why are some comments so mean? why must folks always be jealous of stylish latin gals?

wow this post is way too old for me to be commenting on but if you're still looking for some makeup, or want to try something new for this look, maybe try Tarte's lipstick in Hatha (greatttt color), and Stila's Liquid Eyeliner (it's the BEST i've ever used!)

i just discovered your blog & I was scrolling through past posts & saw your scorpion tattoo & the reason you got it... my grandpa was born there too!
