Junk for Joy

pants1-1.jpg picture by stylebook18

Found this jumpsuit right before I departed to Europe, but didn't end up packing it due to the exaggeration about the terribly cold weather.

Wearing it today gave me the idea of maybe getting some sort of trippy flower tattoo on my hip....

reminds me of the 70s. So hot.

P.s. how is your new nail polish? I bought this clear +sparkles one the other day but it didnt really work out. Im thinking of putting it on TOP of the Speedy Hot Tamale, just for an extra oomph!

Karla you should DIY stud the bottom of that purse! Its the perfect shape and size to looking like the Alexander Wang one the Olsens have been carrying around as of late! Get large conical studs I'm doing it right now on a purse of my own. Love the outfit btw!

Hmm...well, you're very pretty.

I was excited at first because I thought it was a dress...THAT would have been awesome. Still lovin' those shoes.

To be honest though, I really can't see anyone else even attempting this, so kudos, I suppose.

I love this look it's very dramatic. There is no way anybody else could pull of a jumpsuit like that- on me it would just look like curtains.

I usually love jumpsuits, but this one is just not working for me. The print is too loud, the legs are too wide...and so on.

joanna said...

love this outfit, you look really great.

Anonymous said...

I think this would look much better as a shorter jump-suit. I dont think your heels look right with this length either. However, I really like the monochrome print..very pretty!

Zarna said...

fun outfit!

i liked how you still wore heels even though it was short and just ROCKED IT!

Elle said...

love love LOVE the jumpsuit but I would have liked the outfit better if you'd worn it with some nice strappy flat sandals or so. the heels look a bit awkward because of the length and width of the trousers :)

labelleetlaitgirl said...

I think the jumpsuit itself has the potential to be really pretty, the upper part is amazing and so is the black and white print, but the legs are too short and too wide to wear with heels, so it looks clown like.. I would look into either remaking it into a maxi dress or a shorter romper (like, mid thigh length) if I were you, I think it'll look much better that way :)

Not too keen on the shoes + nailpolish though, the metallic looks weird with the nails - I think I would have preferred black sandals. :)

I love a lot of 70s fashion, its cool but im not sure, but you do pull it off.

I adore the color world of this post. Prints are so "in" in Paris right now.

You should make it into a short romper.
and def go for the tattoo!

i would hate for you to cut it, i think it looks perfect the way it is.

sarah said...

i like your shoes karla!

Anonymous said...

You can pull off anything Karla! Although personally I think the outfit would look better without the heels and if the pant part was cut into shorts. But w/e, you still look stunning!

Sophia said...

I envy your gutsiness. Only you could wear this and still look like you own the world. Love the earrings too.

and GET THAT TATTOO!

E said...

Now that is one spectacular jumpsuit.

Anonymous said...

The jumpsuit just doesn't fit with the shoes you wore. It would be much better paired up with flat shoes (as it does not reach the floor when you wear heels) and a big floppy hat...

Najeema said...

Love the jumpsuit- it looks great on you!

Scarlett said...

aw i love it
i can see this as a shorts-suit in summer tho yeahhh!
i dont really like the bag with it, i feel like it's too big?
and the shoes aswell, not too keen

as for the tattoo, if u wanted a flower one, it would look lovely behind your ear, with you having short hair :)

i give you props that youll try anything, but lately i feel youve been dressing in very unflattering pieces that make you look double your size.. and a definate NO to the hip tattoo, trashy meets wanna be hawaiian-esque, just ick. Sorry!

Hannah said...

I love it! It has this nostalgic summery feel (why is it that the 60s-70s always seem so warm?)!

I don't know HOW you do it, but you make this WORK! I would never touch this piece if I saw it, but you're inspiring to be even more adventurous!

I applaud you for your bravery in the past few months, but this outfit is ugly. The shoes look horrid with it, in fact I think any shoe would look awful with such an unflattering piece. Your style has been disastrous lately.

This jumpsuit is awesome!

motherland said...

it is actually not the width of the legs that bugs me about this jumpsuit, it's the bad 70s collar. the collar could very easily be altered to bring it up-to-fashion and look a lot less dated and , forgive me for lack of better term, tacky.

as well, i agree with those who said to wear this with different shoes. the heels are too high + the floaty hemline does NOT work with suck a wide leg.

and it does dwarf you, as someone else said - it seems like it was made for somebody with a longer torso. too much fabric in the wrong places.

grace e. said...

Wonderful silhouette! Retro but in a good way :)
