D+G

Received an email from a fellow reader recommending that I should check out the latest Dolce and Gabbana collection because "it seemed like something I'd be into", and boy was she right. This must mean two things... A) I am quite the predictable one and B) I have a tendency to fancy anything that has to do with undergarments (aka bodystockings, corset tops, and frilly lingerie, etc).

With witty references to 1950's operatic musical theaters, the collection consisted of bustier dresses with lampshade skirts in what looks like furniture fabric, jewel encrusted denim, tulle tutus in pretty pastels, overly ruffled dresses that seemed to exude some sort of royal quality, and last but not least, the sexiest sky scrapers I will probably ever encounter... wish there were close-ups avaialable so that I could swoon over them even more.

I enjoy reading your collection review posts. Your writing skills are lovely. Very raw, a little slang, and very real! Keep on blogging karla!

I noticed Dolce & Gabbana's recent collections have been moving further & further from their 'typical' image, and have been loving it! This one is quite baroque/rococo, LOVE it!

D&G also surprised me :)
I think this new collection is really cute though (not knowing if 'cute' is the right word).Anyways, you should try one of these outfits Karla. I personnaly think the first and the last two dresses are so 'you'.
Maybe you could surprise us, one of these days? :)

Love the collection also - I'm a theatre student and (maybe as a consequence) love theatrical inspired clothing. Adore the 1st & 4th dresses on the first row.

BTW: Please could you tell me how do you get pictures straight from the internet onto your blog?? I thought the traditional 'copy+paste' combo would work but it doesn't. E.g. Do the pictures in your post '3.1' that you published recently come from the internet or were they already saved on your computer?? Please help!

3rd and 4th look are AMAZING!!!!!!!

Ignore my 'BTW' question. Sorry. Somtimes I can be so stupid. When wanting to add a photo, Blogspot clearly ask you if you want to take one from the web. I'm so blind.

hey karla!
if you like this collection, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check out richard nicoll fw09. he is one of my fave designers but he's really gone down a diff more edgy sexy route this time with the whole innerwear-as-outerwear thing. sexy nurses in cutout pastel lingerie?!?!??! not as dark/bold as u'd prefer but i'm sure you;ll appreciate the amazingness of his construction.
cheers!
keep blogging!
