I discovered her in Elle's A/W 2008 Collections magazine as one of the "rising stars" and was instantly blown away by her use of texture and shape. Not to mention how swooned I was by the fact that her signature color is black (uh hello!). From tough and edgy leather skirts to delicate chiffon dresses, she has completely mastered the art of sophistication in my book.

do you subscribe to gwyneth paltrow's e-mail "goop"? she just sent out an e-mail about the importance of her all black uniform and then attached pictures of herself in a shift dress, a knee-length dress, a sweater dress, and the "ultimate mini dress." and she styled each one in different ways-- using everything from topshop to brian atwood heels. it looks like it would have been right up your alley. :)

Thank you for your comment on my dress. I was born here, in the States; but my family is Cuban and my great ancestors came from Spain and France! So I speak a teeny bit of that too. But English will always be the easiest for me to talk and write in, although I can understand and talk Spanish fluently....

Ahhh those heels are absurd in the most amazing way. I came across a very similar pair on ebay, listed by some fetish store (don't ask). I know they're impossible, but the 7" heel is such an enticing challenge....
